Moreé and I experienced a pretty eventful weekend. We ate some wonderful BBQ, strolled through Crossroads First Friday, and then took a picnic to Legends mall and saw the ever so popular Gin Blossoms. Friday was our actual anniversary date, but we had already “celebrated” the previous weekend in Branson. In the past I have really abhorred the thought of Branson…but thats a different post.
While at First Friday I saw a friend from high school. He was one of the three guys I hung out with all the time. We were pretty close but because of some situations grew apart. Anyways, there he was with his fiancé (whom I had never met),and he looks at me, Moreé, Jet and says,”So you like having a kid?” To that I replied, “Yeah, its fun!” as I was pointing to Moreé’s pregnant tummy. I thought that was a little strange. I know for a fact that isn’t the kind of thing you want to say with your future wife right next to you. I’m sure her clock is tick’n even if he hasn’t heard about it yet. I am always surprised by friends of ours that look at us with disgust for having children…but thats another post also.
It’s crazy how your music preferences change when you have to wake up to go to work the next day. It’s worth just getting out on a summers night to see a decent band that knows how to play their instruments. Even if you don’t like the band. The concert started @7 and lasted about an hour and a half. It was scorching when we first got there but by the encore it was totally comfortable. Jeremy and Misty were also there with baby Renzlee. It was a pleasant evening. At least it wasn’t a band that covered songs from the 90′s…oh wait they opened the night.
Sunday at lunch I felt a little sick, so I drove home. It actually worked out well that I happened to be sick though because I got to go with my wife to see the Faris Family play some good o’l blue grass. Their pick’n and fidl’n was faster than Jesse James draw. The Faris Family was by far the most talented and versatile group I have seen live. They win all sorts of awards at blue grass competitions. For example there bass player took first place at a recent competition. They were all just rediculously good. There skill level just makes you think to yourself, “what have you done with your life”….uhhh errr I work in IT. Amazing. You should see em sometime.

[...] Wow. Randy’s weekend sounds disturbingly like mine. First Friday in the Crossroads…check. Davidsons…check. Contemplating the infantaphobic…check. A’ pickin’ and a’ grinnin’? Well, not so much. WOW, How ironic of the both you and Jon our weekends sounded so similar to your guys weekends. That has to be the luck of the draw for all of us to have been with the Davidson this weekend. And I must say this was a great honor for those involved. You guys take care and PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST!
The honor is all ours Mr Davidson. Hope you enjoyed your flight.
[...] As I mentioned before some people just don’t get having kids. They act lIke there is something to be acheived before having them. Like there is a higher calling. Almost comes off as if having kids is some sort of let down for their life. And I’m not talking about just finishing college and good planning. I’m talking about these couples that think they need to have their 5th trip to Cozumel. I really feel bad for kids who have parents like that. (That was intended to make you feel guilty.) I’m sure people change and I hope for that in those situations. So heres the message, Get over yourself. If you wait anylonger your wife is going to pull the oldest trick in the book. “I just forgot to take the pill for a couple days is all.” [...]
